Join us in the stunning mountains of North Carolina, just a short drive from Asheville, for a writing retreat in a quiet, relaxing lodge. Come alone or bring a friend (or several) and be ready to write, chat, and make progress on your work! Featuring optional one-on-one sessions as well as group discussions, this is the safe space you need to have your writing and publishing questions answered before going on a hike or just enjoying the mountain view with a good book. We shaved off over $1000 in costs relative to prior retreats, so the new, lower rates are:

Meet your hosts!
Sonora Reyes
Born and raised in Arizona, Sonora Reyes is the National Book Award finalist and young adult author of The Lesbiana's Guide to Catholic School and The Luis Ortega Survival Club, and the forthcoming Adult Romance novel The Broposal. They also have contributed short stories to the anthologies Transmogrify! and For the Rest of Us. Outside of writing, Sonora loves breaking their body and vocal cords by playing with their baby niblings and dancing/singing karaoke at the same time.
George Jreije
George Jreije ("jer-age") is the Lebanese American author of the acclaimed Shad Hadid fantasy series, the Bashir Boutros series, upcoming graphic novels like Tarik's Bazaar Adventure, and more with HarperCollins. His young adult and adult fiction have been featured in various anthologies across genres, and he has been a guest of honor as well as an instructor for Gotham Writer's Workshop, WriteHive, the Highlights Foundation, and more.Â

Can I bring a my partner? Yes, for a small added fee, you can absolutely bring your partner, all their meals included!
Can I bring a pet? Yes, there's a specific pet-friendly lodge, just let me know.
Do I have to participate in the one-on-one sessions? Absolutely not, that's totally voluntary. We're offering it as a courtesy to those who'd like to chat about publishing or their writing.
Can you accomodate my diet or food allergies? Please let us know if there are dietary preferences, and we can ask the venue if they can accomodate them, though George is a vegan, so he's expecting that the venue can!
Can I bring a group? We encourage you to do so! Talk to us about booking for your group and we can work out an arrangement for everyone that may involve a discount.
